YOU BECKON Book ImagePraise for the poetry of Peggy Eldridge-Love:

I feel fortunate to have been recently introduced to the poetry of Peggy Eldridge-Love. Her work does not provide easy, comfortable reading, but rather familiar places, people and memories that figuratively beckon the reader to take a closer look at the tender ache that may wait beneath the surface of the ordinary. Through Eldridge’s artistry, common contemporary scenes and themes of our shared recent history take on a new dimension. Her collection is filled with timeless pieces that you’ll want to read and read again.

M. LaVora Perry,
Author of “Taneesha’s Treasures of the Heart”
Peggy Eldridge-Love has MASTERED the art of word efficiency as evident in many of the poems in her collection, YOU BECKON. The poem “Go” is a prime example of her unmatchable ability to say so much with so few words. Not only is there much to be learned from this collection about the craft of writing poetry, there is also a lot to FEEL, to PONDER, and to ENJOY. YOU BECKON is a must read for those who enjoy the art of good writing as well as the thrill of pendulous emotions.

An old poem from You Beckon

Thought of this old poem this morning:HaleyYOUBECKON

LUNCH?

Words whispered with a
blown kiss…in passing.
“Lunch?” We both nod, smile,
as though we mean it.

Crowded street, blurred faces,
noise competing with memories –
best friends once, divas
in our adolescent dreams.

We sought the gold ring
on those out of control
merry-go-rounds and rode
round and round reality.

We are no dream girls now.

This author is awesome. I’ve read three of her books. Purchased two as gifts. My nieces loved them.
